“A great example of adaptive-reuse…an exemplary use of an industrial palette.” CENTRAL PA AIA

For nearly 40 years, we’ve made our home in York, creating places that enrich living and working in our community and beyond. The renovation of our headquarters at 320 North George Street transformed a 45,000 square-foot, turn-of-the century warehouse into a sustainable, LEED Platinum certified office of the 21st century – leading the way for modern design that respects the history and tradition of Downtown York.

We Listen

Through an adaptive reuse effort, the industrial beauty of the original structure is celebrated inside and out.

We Design

Exterior modifications returned the main façade to its original pedestrian-focused use, with leasable street front space for merchants. Industrial elements, like an overhead crane, are preserved in place as a relic of the building’s original use. The expansive interior of the warehouse highlights the character of exposed brick and steel and the warmth of natural light. Warehaus’ highly collaborative work environment incorporates work stations, team spaces and conference rooms with both modern and classic styling – a juxtaposition of old and new.

We Deliver

The project achieved LEED Platinum certification in October of 2014 and was awarded Innovative Project of the Year by Central PA’s USGBC at their 2014 Forever Green Awards. The renovation was also recognized by Central PA’s AIA chapter with an Honor Award, calling the project, “a great example of adaptive re-use, incorporating factory elements into the new design, and an exemplary use of an industrial palette.”
