Glassboro, NJ’s Rowan Boulevard is a $350 million revitalization project directly linking one of New Jersey’s leading universities, Rowan University, with the borough’s downtown retail district, creating the quintessential college town. The project promotes smart growth living with mixed-use buildings offering intergenerational residential, retail, office, student housing, restaurants and a hotel in a walkable community setting.

We Listen

At the hotel, a Courtyard by Marriott, developers wanted to provide convenient and comfortable lodging to students’ families and university visitors. Warehaus worked closely with both the developer and Marriott to design a solution that met the goals of the project.

We Design

Meeting the project’s room count requirement was a challenge due to the site’s steep grade as well as its location on a traffic circle. By matching the radius of the front of the building to the road and designing a series of decorative retaining walls, Warehaus was able to configure a layout with 129 rooms. The building’s façade also did not match Marriott’s standards, and Warehaus obtained Marriott’s approval of the new façade design.

We Deliver

Interior features include banquet and pre-function facilities, flexible work and meeting rooms, a spa and fitness area, and The Bistro café and lounge, and an indoor pool. The indoor swimming pool required vapor barriers and special finishes to prevent moisture from permeating the rest of the building. The redevelopment project linked the University with Glassboro’s downtown retail district to redefine the campus and the borough.
