For a discerning client who flies all over the world, a home base airport hangar must marry functionality with upscale appeal. Warehaus and Kinsley Construction collaborated on the Design/Build of a new hangar at the Reading Airport with those goals as our driving purpose. The hangar serves as a location for clients to fly in and quickly meet to review investment portfolios, requiring all necessary amenities to be on site.
We Listen
Various stakeholders, including the client’s pilot, private interior decorator, personal AV/IT designer and furniture designer, provided insights to guide the pre-design process. By collaborating early and often, Warehaus remained focused on delivering to the client’s needs.
We Design
The exterior of the hangar incorporates modern, luxurious materials to make an outstanding first impression on the upscale clientele. A high-end conference room, comfortable lounge with working fireplace and pilot’s offices feature wool carpeting and wood trim detailing to support the high end furniture selections.
We Deliver
Warehaus’ expertise in commercial building codes allowed us to maximize rated glass openings looking into the hangar from the lounge and conference room and to translate the wishes of the private interior decorator to ensure the final finishes were stunning, unique and to code. As a multi-disciplinary studio, our in-house structural and MEP engineers also worked collaboratively with the client and architectural team to deliver a cohesive project.
