New Beginnings for York Hospital
Since 1880, York Hospital has served the York community and has grown to become the regional’s leader in advanced specialty care. A multi-million-dollar expansion is underway, pushing the largest hospital in York County to become one of the top 10 largest hospitals in Pennsylvania. The project plans to include an eight-story surgical and critical care tower, new women’s floor, ICU and operating rooms, all with state-of-the-art medical technology.
We Listen
The project is expected to take five years to complete, with two older buildings on the campus being demolished to accommodate the expansion. Additional parking spaces will be added to the campus to provide convenient access for patients and visitors.
We Design
Getting the project off to a successful start required detailed land planning and survey work. Had the project been in a green field, the design would have been straightforward. However, with an in-fill project located on an already fully developed campus with steep topography, the intricacies of implementing the client’s desired design were much more complex.
We Deliver
Warehaus’ Civil team played a key role in coordination between subconsultants, two municipalities, the client and the design team. Subconsultants for the project include site survey, utility survey, geotechnical, environmental, and traffic related services. The design team includes Cannon Design, providing architectural and structural engineering services, and WSP, providing MEP engineering.
Additionally, Warehaus prepared multiple concept plans and provided the following additional services: Zoning Variances, Land Development, NPDES Permitting, Construction Administration, and Post Construction Services.
