Blueprints & Brick Phones: The Office Culture That Built Our Future

From drafting tables to the first mobile calls, the ’80s office was all about big ideas and even bigger innovations.

In the late 1980s, the office environment was a collaborative and practical space, deeply influenced by the firm’s roots in construction. Designs were developed through detailed hand drawings, with an emphasis on creating buildable, functional solutions.

The firm’s close-knit culture fostered mentorship, with experienced professionals sharing their expertise through meetings, site visits, and hands-on collaboration. This approach not only deepened the team’s understanding of constructability but also strengthened relationships with clients by delivering thoughtful, well-executed projects.

We continue to partner today with those clients, such as
