Renewing the Vital Pathways that Keep 333 Market Street Connected

At 333 Market Street in the heart of Harrisburg, Warehaus led the renovation design effort focused on safeguarding the building's critical exterior walkways and stair systems. These access points—spanning the second, third, and fourth floors—play a vital role in the daily function of the property. Over time, weathering and use have led to deterioration in ceilings, flooring finishes, lighting, structure, and drainage. The project's mission is clear: restore and reinforce these elements while ensuring that the walkways and stairs continue to serve their original purpose for years to come.

This important undertaking is delivered through a Design/Build partnership with Pyramid Construction Services, supported by the structural expertise of KBR Associates Consulting Engineers (KBRACE) and the electrical and plumbing design services of Paragon Engineering Services (PES). Together, the team addressed the full scope of repairs, from drainage and stormwater systems to linear ceilings, lighting, and flooring. Their integrated approach provides both efficiency and precision, ensuring that the renovation enhances performance without compromising access or usability.

One of the most visible elements of the work involved replacing structural steel beams at the building's main entrance and the existing exterior stairs. With significant shoring designed by KBRACE in place, the team safely removed deteriorated steel using precision plasma cutting before installing portions of existing beams, new beams and columns. These improvements paved the way for the installation of new precast concrete stairs and exterior reinforced concrete walkways, giving the building's entrances renewed strength and durability while blending seamlessly with the existing structure.

Completed in Fall 2025, the renovation represents more than just a building upgrade—it underscores Harristown's ongoing investment in Harrisburg's urban core. With Warehaus guiding the architectural design, Pyramid Construction managing construction, KBRACE ensuring structural integrity from demolition through reconstruction, and PES enhancing building systems, the project stands as a testament to collaboration, careful planning, and a shared commitment to the future of downtown Harrisburg.
