Cumberland Township Municipal Building

Gettysburg, PA

Investing in Safety, Service, and Community Access

With a growing population, increasing visitor traffic, and aging infrastructure, Cumberland Township identified a critical need to expand and modernize its municipal building and police department. Originally built in the late 1970s and last upgraded over 30 years ago, the facility no longer meets the operational demands of township staff or the safety needs of law enforcement and the public.

We listen.

To help realize this vision, Warehaus is serving as the architect for the comprehensive renovation and expansion of the municipal complex at 1370 Fairfield Road in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The project will address long-standing deficiencies—most notably, the police department’s inadequate workspace, where officers shared a cramped office and used a kitchenette located within a dark interior storage room.

We design.

The design includes a new police wing featuring secure evidence storage, interview room, patrol room, and improved circulation for staff and visitors. The building’s garage side will be extended to form a new shared main entrance, and a gated carport that will provide covered parking for police vehicles. Interior renovations will enhance the township’s public meeting room, expand office space, and refresh finishes throughout, creating a more functional and professional environment.

We deliver.

Upgrades also include a new roof, improvements to three auxiliary buildings on the site, a reconfigured parking layout, and a dedicated employee entrance to improve accessibility. Backed by more than $2.1 million in state grant funding—including RACP and Local Share Account awards—the project is being designed to meet grant compliance standards and deliver long-term value to the community. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2026, resulting in a modern municipal hub that better serves Cumberland Township’s residents, staff, and visitors.
